A Thousand Tears
I have shed a thousand tears of joy, sorrow and gratitude. I have shed a thousand tears for love, family, and friends. I have shed a thousand tears for my children. I have shed a thousand tears for disasters, terror, survivors and war in its various shards. I have shed a thousand tears for the joy of freedom, the sacrifice of the soldier and the final resting place of the heroes proved. I have shed a thousand tears for laughter, the child and natures beauty. I have shed a thousand tears for the rhythm of hope and love, for the fear of the unknown and for the uncertainty of life. I cast my closed nightly eyes towards my friends living and passed, to family and heroes proved and to those who gave us all. A thousand tears are shed for the unsung hero and shadow warrior, their names and faces clear and present. Through my misty eyes I reflect on the grandeur of my freedom and its independence. I have been the thousand tears on the face of my savior and he succors me still. Because of his grace and mercy I have shed a thousand tears for hope and faith. My tears pool in my eyes for the glory of his giving and the matchless power of his name. His act of love through his redeeming sacrifice causes my heart to quicken and my eyes to glisten as I raise my face towards his.
